Private Medical Insurance for City Workers
Updated: Oct 9, 2020
Employees in the City of London are increasingly turning to international private medical insurance (IPMI) to meet their healthcare requirements. Here are five reasons why: -
Convenience
Members can arrange an appointment with a private GP in the City at a time convenient to them. As a result, they are less likely to miss any important face-to-face meetings or conference calls.
Overseas Cover
Many City workers will travel frequently, or own property overseas. An IPMI plan will allow members to seek elective (planned) medical treatment whilst abroad, in addition to covering medical emergencies.
Maternity Cover
Most IPMI plans will include benefit for routine maternity, allowing members to give birth in private facilities. This is a very popular benefit, which is not normally found in UK domestic PMI policies.
Chronic Conditions Cover
The management of chronic medical conditions is usually covered by IPMI policies. These are conditions that can’t be cured using today’s medicines and techniques, such as diabetes and asthma.
Wellbeing Benefits
A good IPMI policy will also provide wellness benefits including an annual health check, an eye test, prescribed glasses and contact lenses and routine dental cover.
